It is located in the Vega Baja region, bordering the Region of Murcia, being the most southern municipality in the province of Alicante.

This area was first established as a private urbanisation around one of the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Blanca, but the urban development promoted by tourism ended up giving its own identity framed next to the place of Río Seco, a river that cross the entire municipality of Pilar de la Horadada.

Mil Palmeras is famous for its three beaches, all of them with the Blue Flag and rated with the "Q" for Quality. Several beach bars and a huge offer of water sports will delight the whole family, since it has a jet ski rental service, parasailing, multiple activities for children and even a space reserved for people with reduced mobility .

Among its places of interest, it is worth mentioning the proximity of the Lo Romero Golf Course, which is only a 10 minute drive away, and which, with 18 holes, is rated as one of the 10 best golf courses in Spain. It opened in 2008 and is relatively new to the Costa Blanca golf circuit.
